What is NaProTECHNOLOGY®?
NaProTECHNOLOGY® or (Natural Procreative Technology-NaPro) is the result of over 30 years of research by Thomas Hilgers, M.D., an obstetrician/gynecologist at the National Center for Women’s Health in Omaha, Nebraska. This state-of-the-art science has empowered thousands of women throughout the U.S. and around the globe to learn more about their bodies and reproductive health. NaPro provides the best in current medical care, applying diagnostic and therapeutic techniques in a way that is cooperative with the natural functions of a woman’s body. It can be used to treat a wide range of gynecologic problems including premenstrual tension syndrome, ovarian cysts, abnormal bleeding, irregular cycles and recurrent miscarriages.
Through a system called NaProTRACKING, a woman can chart her fertility signs to create a medical record. The process of diagnosis and treatment involves an ongoing dialogue between the woman and her physician, so that the cause of the difficulty can be identified and treated. Through this active participation in her healthcare, a woman becomes empowered to actively collaborate in her treatment. This approach seeks to find the cause for the disease and treat it, rather than suppress the woman’s natural cycle. Many seek the use of NaPro as an alternative to treatment using the birth control pill and others simply want to learn about their fertility.
We at the Vitae Clinic are called to a higher standard of care for our patients in all aspects of obstetrics, infertility, and gynecology with respect and value of life.
We are able to serve the needs of women through NaProTECHNOLOGY® and natural family planning, the method that was developed through extensive research at the National Center for Women’s Health. Since its creation in 1976, NaProTECHNOLOGY® has helped thousands of women and couples. The successes of these innovations have inspired us to create a clinic where we can provide top tier health care while staying true to ethical and religious directives (ERDs). Therefore, we do not provide oral or other artificial contraceptives, provide or refer for abortions or use methods of achieving pregnancy that contradict these directives.
